Memorial Rods

Take them fishing, anytime.

A rod with a loved one's ashes swirled into the marbled split-grip section. For a parent, a fishing buddy, or the dog who rode in the boat — so they can keep going with you.

Why I make these

My dad is the reason I fish. Weekends camping and fishing were just who we were. When he passed, I bought a bass boat, found a tournament club, and started building rods.

His rod is on my bench now, with some of his ashes swirled into the marbled split-grip section. I'll finish it this winter. He's going fishing next spring.

If you had someone like that, I'd be honored to make one for you.

How it works

  1. We talk first. What you fish and how, and the colors that mean something to you.
  2. You send the ashes. A small amount is mixed into the epoxy with your colors and swirled by hand into the marbled split-grip section. No two ever come out the same.
  3. What isn't used comes home. Any ashes I don't use come back to you — or, if you'd like, I'll scatter them somewhere that fits.
  4. Any split-grip rod. BRED rods with a split grip (I'll tell you which ones I have on hand) or any Custom PRO build with a split grip. Timing depends on shipping and what's on my bench; I'll give you an honest estimate when we talk.

When you're ready

There's no rush. Tell me a little about who they were, and we'll go from there.
